Sanet Smith

Director: Training And Education

Sanet Smith has been involved in the FM environment since 1996 when she became responsible for the circulating of the BTech in Facilities Management at the Tshwane University of Technology.

After her resignation as full-time senior lecturer in the Business School at the TUT, she became involved in adult education through her organisation Global FM.

She successfully registered various courses and learning programs at the Services Seta.
She holds a BA in Sociology and Psychology, a B Cur, a BA Honours in Industrial Sociology, as well as a Master degree in the same field, all obtained from the University of Pretoria.
Sanet also completed the BSc in Facility Management from the Hanzehoogeschool of Groningen in the Netherlands.
She is passionate about research, and was appointed best research student of the Medical Faculty of UP in 1993. She was also appointed best lecturer at the TUT during 2001.

The combination of her qualifications and experience enabled her to teach Facilities management from a holistic point of view and consult in one of the first major PPPs in the hospital environment in SA.

She is also a qualified ballet teacher, and enjoys visiting the theatre. Furthermore, she enjoys travelling – her favourite destinations are the Scottish Highlands and the Botswana saltpans.
